It was a surname provided to the Queen's of Ethiopia..it does not mean Queen...and the origins cannot be English if the  name originated with the Nubian civilization...English have taken the name after the name was already in existence... Candace was the Ethiopian Queen whose eunuch was converted to Christianity as mentioned in the old Testament bible.
