For example  1/5 + 3/5= (1+3)/5 = 4/5so if the bottom is the same then you just add the top and keep the bottom the same.Or if you mean: 5/9 + 5/9= 10/9because also the same as before add the top and keep the bottom the same.Also a number like 10/9 = 1  1/9
