There are many types of books, but the technical name is genre. Mystery - fact - fantasy - gothic - chick - Apocalypse - childrens - horror - history - tv shows/movies - traditional - comedy - thriller - action... I can't come up with any more sorry, but there is a reasonable amount there... :)
