Yes they are and many don't want to admit to it, but behind closed doors it's a different story......
Unplug it and then take a flat head screwdriver to pry each side of the front up and lift slowly......switch can be bypassed by disconnecting the button and reconnect the wires and then plug it in......make sure to push in dial to stop position before plugging in.....
