In 1939. Germany invaded Poland from the west, while the USSR invaded from the east. It was a backroom deal with Hitler to bifurcate Poland. Nobody seemed to be interested in the Soviets involvement. Nor do they do today. Germany later invaded USSR in June 1941

Doolittle lived to 96, (1993,)but he wasn't that young in WW2. Check the commander of the 82nd Airborne Division. I think he was in his thirities, but I can't recall his name.
