Did you happen to notice if it jumped?  It may be phidippus audax; the "daring jumping spider".  I found one at my house that looked almost exactly like the picture posted on this page. This is what I think it is: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phidippus_audax beautiful aren't they?
