I still feel as if I'm young, in my 20--30's! I'm 42. Everyone has a story and has taken the path to get them where they are today. My path has been exciting, rewarding, sometimes difficult. I have always been a risk taker in life, and that has worked for me. When I feel there is something I need to do or change with my life, I start one step at a time.
I don't have any regrets in life, only lessons learned. I have never looked back in the past for what could of been, I have only looked to what can be.. I am a strong person who will always keep going no matter what obstacle may arise.I may get sad or afraid, but everything always works out one way or another.
On 6/3/10, I suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) due to a fall. I was in ICU Critical Condition for about 28 days. The doctor wrote on my chart, "High Mortality Risk". I was hospitalized for 36 days. The neurologist's called me a "miracle"! I have 5 lg. internal skull fractures with smaller "starburst" fractures off those, epidural hemotoma, brain swelling, hemorrhage, busted left ear drum, etc.. I deal with cognitive deficits including difficulties with chronic pain, headaches, neck pain, muscle spasms, attention span, concentration, memory loss, seizures and many other difficulties associated with TBI. I am so thankful and blessed to be here! Why God saved me, i don't know? Yet, I know He will show me!
