Poor guy... Hope his spirit is at peace. He certainly doesn't seem vengeful, so I'd say he's friendly. Maybe he became a poltergeist? He's just trying to spook ya! Or maybe he's a poor soul wanting some attention?

As for the name of the theory, I have no clue. Maybe Darwin's Theory? Or was he the guy with the theory of evolution?

I wouldn't recommend it. Not only does it make the child even more upset, but you could seriously hurt them. In my personal opinion, taking a belt to a child is like taking a boot to a kitten.
But, that's just how I feel. As for legality, I would assume yes.
