Well, he's apparently both tender and protective.

The primary possible problem is that he is really way overprotective and you don't know that yet.

As long as he stops being protective when you want him to, he sounds like a really nice guy.

I'm not sure exactly what it means but it probably doesn't mean that he DOESN'T like you in some way. My question is how can Your hair possibly be in His face, and why WOULDN'T he push you away if that were the case? Sorry for the intrusion.
