If the invitation States you and a guest then it's okay, but it's never a good idea to bring an Uninvited Guest to any party.

well as a vet would do it it would be less painful for the dog and more painful as far as putting it down goes when u did it . But putting it down made it not have to suffer and its not illegal.

If you did what was best for your dog (and it sounds as if you did), then no-one is going to care. I salute your bravery and humanity. I couldn't do that.

Legally your dog is viewed as your property.  In most states that is enough to allow you to put it down in your means.  I have nothing but respect for you and your ability to make this decision.
