I am a blind mother of two with some residual vision but not enough to get around anywhere away from my home without a cane, my guide dog, or a sighted person; however, it does not keep me down. In all my life I cannot recall a time when I was not writing something, anything. It was something of a coping mechanism during my youth whereas now it is how I supplement my income. I work was a freelance writer for various e-zines and a magazine for the blind. My first manuscript titled, Greed, Murder, Lies: Can Love Survive? actually went into publishing a couple of years ago. This year I have taken something of a hiatus, not completely planned one. Early in the year I enrolled in an advanced pottery class so I could reconnect with my pottery after the absence between my grandmother's death and when I began throwing again late 2007 after I was able to get a pottery wheel with some help and finding a refurbished wheel. The advanced class really boosted my throwing ability and having access to the glazing area and kilns was wonderful. It really took me back to the little studio where I made vases, planter pots, bowls, cups, and such while my grams trimmed and painted then glazed pieces she put up for sale and others from specific orders.
