Absolutely! He needs the distraction. Having a family member in ICU is stressful, wish him a happy birthday, get him a card, make him a cake...tell him you love him and are trying to alleviate some of his stress, if only for a day.
I like the idea of the perfume best. It's something he can use regularly, and every time he does, he'll think of you. Snickers sounds good too, not so sure on the Bounty though... But that could be just me!
I think the main thing is to be genuine and speak from the heart. Maybe by mentioning moments you shared together, it will remind him of all the fun times you've had, and then you could follow that up with all the exciting things you'd like to do together in the future!
