Megan, we all have bad days but if you are staying down all the time you need to see a doctor.

Go volunteer, you will feel so much better helping someone else.

Life is full of ups and downs. Don't fight the downs because when you fight the downs, the downs will give you a good fight. Embrace the downs when you can and you will see it's easier to see the ups. Know that you are normal. Ups and downs know no prejudice. Tall, short, fat, thin, rich, poor, old, young, yellow, purple, it dont matter. Ups and downs will get you.

Megan, if you Google that same question, the first link that came up was www.positivityblog.com . It gave 10 steps and explained each step. It looks like it may be helpful.

Go out and accomplish something. Anything. Set a small goal, and go after it

You’re not as bad as all that and life is too short to not seek a better deal.

Generally speaking, it's not so much what happens to us in life as it what we tell ourselves about those things that trouble us because they did happen to us.

[I'm not saying that there are no terrible and negative life-changing experiences that may have happened to you---and there are in fact some things that are extremely difficult (if not totally unlikely)---to get over without professional help.  Such things do happen.

And professional help at any time can be extremely helpful to an individual.]

Enter How can I stop feeling sorry for myself into a search engine and you will get a number of links that may prove helpful to you.

Everyone's life has good and bad. You can't ignore the bad, but you can focus on it less. This may seem over-simplistic, but I know this has worked for others. Each morning when you wake up and before getting out of bed think of 3 things you are grateful for. They can be big or small. It could be the love of parents or friends. It could be favorite shirt was washed yesterday and you get to wear it today.

Starting your day on a positive note helps you have a positive outlook on the rest of your day. Also when you start feeling sorry for yourself during the day, again list 3 things you are grateful for.
