My very first Christmas dinner with new in laws, I failed to take the inners out of the turkey!
Lol! It would be easier to answer when did I NOT have a mishap! Lol!
Just playing. My husband insisted that his Grandpa (who in 85 years never found a turkey he liked) try my turkey because I actually can make a decent turkey. Well because Grandpa loved Yang he tried my turkey and LOVED it. He went back home to his wife (who was known for her delicious cooking) telling her about how much he liked my turkey and he never tasted one so delicious, etc. So she heard about this turkey non-stop till Christmas when they both came down for a visit... Grandpa saying he is making the trip again so soon because he HAS to have some of my turkey again. The whole time I am cooking it, his wife is giving me the stink eye because I made a turkey Grandpa actually liked and SHE could never make one he could eat. So I have a LOT riding on this turkey being just as tasty as the previous time. I did step by step everything right, right down to the slicing of the meat... Which was still frozen on the inside! I was mortified and crying off in the room somewhere. Grandpa was disappointed but understood. His wife? Well it just made her day! She "came to my aid" so quickly "oh hunny! It's okay. We will just put it in a little longer" (which I knew was gonna dry it out) She sat there smiling the whole dinner as people TRIED eating my turkey! Pffft! Stooopid kitchen! Stooopid oven! Stooopid turkey!
😅 That is how I learned I get it right every third meal I attempt. The next one was burnt. The following one came out good again! 😅
