My child has been bitten by a dog while playing in a park. I would like to file a claim against the dog owner. What are the responsibilities of dog owners in Connecticut?

Under Connecticut law, dog owners are responsible for injuries caused by their pets. The law is a strict liability law, meaning that the victim does not have to prove that the owner knew the dog was vicious or that the owner was negligent in any way. The only defense open to the owner is if the victim, at the time of receiving the bite, was trespassing or committing some other tort, or provoked the dog in some way.  The Reinken Law Firm  help clients hold pet owners accountable for the injuries their pets inflict.
