What makes an ants sense of smell so profound? They are no where to be seen then a hundred of them pop up in a matter of a couple hours!

Interesting little pains in the neck!  🐜

They use pheromones to communicate.  They smell the various chemical signals they're sending to one another, through mainly their antenna.

If an ant finds a source of tasty food, as it returns to the nest it'll leave behind a pheromone trail for others to follow.

Did you know if you squish an ant and spread a thin trail of guts, other ants will follow the "trail"?

Yes I have to do that to.... the only thing is, is that a germaphobe in recovery like me don't see these bugs as "dirty." They're not diseased and germy like a fly or cockroach. Yucketh! They are annoying though.

Its one of those made up words Yang made up back in the day to describe...... oh how do I put this gently????..... Ummmm Walmart Yoga pants lady! LOL!
