I'd like to have a PhD in Outerspaceology. What the heck, I'm out there anyway.
If you could enroll in a PhD program, with your tuition paid in full by a mysterious benefactor, what would you study — and why?
If time was not an issue either I am with Jeremy..... I'd do psychology. However if time was what I have now I would pick something like creative writing or book publishing.
Either computer science or business economics. I was in the 90th percentile the last time I took the GRE. But I would like to pursue a PhD long in the future when my kids are old enough. I don't have kids yet. So that's quite some time.
Quick Fact:
Most decent graduate programs in the United States fully fund Phd. Students and offer a stipend. In Europe, a majority of Universities do.
The stipend is around $38,000 at the highest, but translated to the work you actually put in this is equal to probably $0.50 an hour. But hey, no loans!
The saying is that only a fool would pay full price for a PhD.
Would be medical science.
