Are there people you think of as family, even though you aren't related?

I have friends that I consider family MORE than most of my family members.

There are one or two but most have faded away.

My Blurtit family. Boy some of us have been together since the day I found out I was pregnant with Jr. You guys celebrated his birth with me, his first tooth, my daughters graduations, drivers license, becoming a mother in law for the first time. You guys helped me through letting go, fears, pondering moments. You guys walked the floor with me through fevers and ones broken arm. Heck I remember one night someone was the tooth fairy with me when I was soooooooooo tired but couldn't sneak out till I knew my child was all the way asleep! Lol! I don't do that with blood "family" anymore now that my sister's have passed away.

My church family is also more family to me and Yang then any of our blood family. We have more in common. We celebrate each other's victories and triumphs, graduations, jobs, marriages, new grandbabies, birthdays, etc. And we are there for each other through deaths, tragedy, devastating trials and storms, even just the silly day to day life struggles.

I realized my friends/sisters mean the world to me when my daughter was proposed to and I told all my Church family the good news, all of you guys, even my dead sister...... And then realized it never even crossed my mind to tell blood "family."

Yes, several!  I've assembled a nice little "family" circle for myself.  :)
