Have you noticed a spike in gas prices this week? Ours went up $.20 in one day.

I only saw one place that jumped 20 cents, the rest were about the same. I am sure the rest will be going up in the next day or two. Thankfully I don't drive that much and I filled up before the storm hit. That will be enough for the next two weeks.

Ours started going up several weeks ago.  It's already up by about 40 cents.  We pay even more here in California than in other states because we're required to use a specially formulated blend to improve air quality.

Yes prices will go up and we all know it will takes forever for them to get back down even after the plants reopen. Remember the "gas surcharge" the airlines were collecting way back when? Dis you ever hear of them stopping that once all the gas issues were normalized? In some states a sticker has to be posted on the pump listing ann the taxes and fees that add up to a gallon of gas. You subtract that total from the price you are paying and you can see what the "station" is making on a gallon. I stired up a nest of hornets two years ago with a letter to the local newspapers asking why the dramatic, not small,  differences in prices for a gallon of gas among the same "national brand stations" which are located along the same major thoroughfare, in the same state, in the same county five of them only two or three miles apart. Differences ranging from 5 to 30 cents. Unbelieveable.

We have one national brand station located right on the major highway to South Lake Tahoe. Their price is routinely $.75 to $1.00 higher than any of the other gas stations in tower (5 that I can recall), and all of them just off the highway. I guess what they lose in local business they make up for in tourist dollars. .
