It's about a mile from my home.
18 miles.
15 miles, but they don't cover me. We need to call county which is about 35 miles.
Same here. There is a 24 hour police station about 15 miles away, but if they have to send police to the village, they have to come from about 30 miles away. As I grew up, every village had a police presence - there would be a "police house" and a "village bobby". If he had to get help, there were other "village bobbys" a 'phone call and 3 miles away.
Not sure whether the new ways of policing are better or worse.
The actual "station" is 38 miles away. However we have 2 state troopers and 3 police officers and their families less than 2 miles away. They have their radios on and their wifes can relay calls to them from home if need be.
4 and half miles.
I think there are police sub stations all over the place kind of hidden in larger shopping centers. However the one we do business with if need be is 4.7 miles
Geez Skip, are you trying to triangulate the location of my home? . . .
Less than a mile.
Other than a doughnut shop ?
About 3 kilometers. Great response time.
Let's just say ... My "armory" is a whole hell of a lot closer.
