In the past people were buried with the items they would need in the afterlife, what would you want buried with you so you could use it in the afterlife?

Hippy, it's not personal, but if your number were in my caller id and it showed up after I knew you had been burried, that call would absolutely scare the sh*t out of me and I would immediately change my number.

No thanks, cremate me, we've squandered far too much real estate already burying human remains.

I think it's clear to see that in every historical case, any material goods buried with the dead remained untouched, did not follow the "soul" of the deceased to the alleged "next life".

What an arrogant, wasteful practice, merely to facilitate superstitious nonsense. Please pass my property to my heirs.

It might be, Tom. Makes sense.
But is that footprint offset by the huge patches of land used for cemetaries that were either cleared of carbon filltering trees or are now kept devoid of them with fossil fuel burning lawn equipment.

Not to mention the resources used to produce caskets, make and transport headstones, the fuel burned in funeral processions, etc.
My guess is cremation

Quite possible. To me, funerals are primarily for the living to help them cope. And probably unwisely, I'm really not ready to start thinking too much about the issue yet.

So far I have indicated that the result of a coin toss would be just fine with me and it would also be just fine with me if they changed their mind about how it should have come up..

Absolutely nothing.....If there is an afterlife (and I think there is), I suspect anything I actually do need will be provided to me.

Is there a afterlife? Or  are we enriching the grave robbers?
