I did when I was helping at the school.  The schools here collect them and give to the Ronald MacDonald House.

They cash them in, according to the lady at the house some months they make enough money off of the tabs to pay the electric bill.  That's very good.

We did at one point cuz we heard if you save them you can turn them in and it will help kidney dialysis patients. We saved a 2liter and a half full just to find out the information was false. It was some sort of "urban legend" we fell for.

Really!?!? We ended up turning them in with the recyclables and all that aluminum is only like a buck if you recycle them. :0(
I wish I would have known the Ronald MacDonald one when we had them. I would have turned them in in a heartbeat. I know for me I was sooooooo thankful the nurses let me stay with my youngest daughter when she was 13 days old (for a week) when she was in the hospital. It always is a good thing to keep families together when someone is sick.

Yes.  On You Tube you will find a bunch of life hacks using pull tabs.

Yes. One of my coworkers even brings me some on occasion. Once I have a gallon ziploc bag full, I drop them off at a local pharmacy and they give them to The Ronald McDonald House.

Nope.

Re: Ronald McDonald charity:

How do they get money from the pull tabs people donate?
They "sell" the tabs to a local recycling center.
Anybody want to guess how many tabs it takes to get $1?
While it would only take 20 cans at $0.05 each ... It takes literally hundreds of pull tabs, because they have to sell by weight.
You would be FAR better off recycling your can, and dropping the nickel in the window box.

Probably!
But hundreds of schools doing this they pay off.

But imagine if those schools actually recycled the cans ... and gave the money to RMH. They could also add other recyclable materials ... bottles and plastics. Billions of dollars!
