If you could ride into battle on an animal, what animal would it be?

I'd want to ride in on Sudo, our resident dragon.

A reality check from an actual combat vet:

Are we talking storybook World of Warcraft-ish "battle", or actual 21st century warfare, where real people are in real peril?

In the former: a winged dragon, an imaginary beast that fits effectively into an exercise of the utterly imaginary; 

For the latter: real-world modern combat, give me a tank killing A-10 Warthog.

something fast and highly agile ... Like a giant weasel.  LOL

None. I see no good reason to bring an innocent animal into a man-made conflict putting its life on the line.
