I could survive, I'd just get out my old camping gear for cooking and lighting. I guess if forced, I could last a long time. I wouldn't want to but you gotta go with the flow.
Our power went out for two weeks following a windstorm in 2011. We did a lot of heating bath water on the gas stove, listening to old-time radio tapes on our battery-operated player, using pink foam curlers instead of the blow dryer or curling iron. We did it .... But it was challenging!
It would be hard at first but I would manage. I have the tools and supplies to last a very long time.
I'd be alright. I could cook outside with wood, charcoal or lp gas. I have a generator that I would use sparingly to conserve fuel for the well pump and fridge/freezer. I have oil lamps for emergencies and lots of canned goods. I have a wood stove for winter heat. If I had to I could go down to the stream to transport some water. If it got real bad, I could go down in the valley and ask the Amish for advice. LOL! They are always willing to help.
We have a solar panel system at our house, so we could survive on limited energy for a while, hopefully.
I would curl up in a ball and die..... Probably with in the first hour and a half! I wouldn't do very well. I would pile the kids in the car and go visit someone with electricity..... I'll admit..... I've done it before! I will also admit that I have used an extension cord from the laundry room at an apartment I lived at but was caught after about a week. Not some of my best moments nor am I proud of those times...... I don't do well without electricity. 😢😭😦😟😲
I live in Florida and we have an emergency generator (we get the occasional hurricane), a Class A RV and a 65 foot fishing yacht. To be honest, short of an actual hurricane, I doubt I'd even notice a difference.
I am camping in my r right now because noise freak my dogs out. The noise we are hiding from is solar panels being installed on our roof. So I will still have power. I also have a pantry stocked with water and canned goods because I live in a hurricane zone. So I would be good for awhile. In that while I could learn to hunt and fish. I live in a wooded area near a river, so there is plenty of wildlife.
Generator and a woodstove and the great outdoors for a bathroom. Solar panels. Generally a well stocked pantry and water. I think I'd be okay for a while.
yes then I just get a solar kit
