I gather you mean in place of the spam. The problem with spam is rarely do the produces of it want to pay for advertising space.
I agree with you on your ideas for enhancing the site, however, as it stands now, there is no clear or active moderation on the site now. I don't agree to allow ads on the site - we all have to put up with all the spammers - I really don't want to have the same issue with the ads.
Enhancing features on Blurtit should not happen until they get their ducks in a row. They need active and fair moderation on this site first. It's ridiculous to allow the spam to continue the way that it has.
My guess is that the powers-to-be are not really concerned about the reputation this site has garnered. Blurtit now feels like someone's neglected hobby rather than an active, vibrant Q&A site.
