Do you prefer Google or Bing? Or another search engine? And have you tried "OK Google"? What sort of experience have you had?

I use Google it's more convenient, I like Bing and use it sparingly. Is Hey Google using the Mic?, if so I  use it 95%, easier to speak my request. I like it.

Hi Didge,

My best familiarity is with Google, but I always use GOODSEARCH initially because they give a penny for every search, donated to the non-profit org of your choice.

Goodsearch seems to be part of Yahoo because Yahoo periodically asks me if I want to change my default search engine...and no...not so far, anyway.

Google everything for me! Gmail, Google calendar, Google chrome, it's just more convenient having one account for so many different applications. My tablet, being a Samsung, uses the Google voice command thing, I often use it for random searches or when my hands are a little dirty.

I always use Bing to search for images or videos. When you hover your mouse over an image, it enlarges for a better look. When you hover your mouse over a video, it actually plays a short part of the vid.

You'll just have to be patient, Hippy. Since Jaimie asked for more questions from regulars I've been posting one a day after lunch (which works out about midnight in NYC or 9.00 in Virginiaville).

I'll have to catch the question in the AM since I live in the NYC timezone.

I use Bing as that's what my kindle defaults to and I've never changed it...I like it and have never had trouble with it!

I always use Google, I don't use other search engines. I've also tried OK Google, where you speak your search, but I feel a bit silly using that so I just type my search instead :)

The voice searches are great once you get used to them, Anna, but they sometimes come up with some very strange questions if they misinterpret what you said. Give it another try -- I think you'll enjoy it.

I use Google on all devices. I have OK Google on my phone. It's very convenient. It's sort of like Google's version of Siri. I really like it when identifying any unknown music anywhere from any source. I also use it as a step by step GPS. It also answers my random questions.

Google has always worked good for me so I haven't tried anything else. There's an old saying around here.    " If it aint broke don't fix it!"

I guess I use Bing, as that's what came with Windows 10. Never looked at what it was till now. :)  I use Google maps if that counts.  I do use Google if I am looking for something in other countries.. Like Google.co.uk as that is the only way I know how to look things up in the UK.  (At one point it would not allow me to do that, and always got google.ca, but now it allows it)

Clearly, Bing for images and Google for everything else.

Bing does image search too. Just upload a .jpg file and it will give you the origin.

I knew Google had that but have never used it. Must give it a try just to see what I can find. (I sometimes use TinEye -- Firefox add-on) to search for pics.

I generally always use Google but do use Bing once in a while. I've been playing some with Google OK but it still needs some fine tuning. Then there's always Ask.com to search also ! LOL

I went back and tried Ask a few months ago to see if they had done anything to make it worth closing down their Q&A site but they're just a third rate Google. I still don't understand their reason for shutting down. They had something special; now they're nothing.

Google is my default.

But if I can't find something on Google, I will use Bing.

Twice in the last two years I have found nothing that I've searched for on Google, but found the information using Bing.

I come to believe no company ever going to be like "Google" at least not for me. Google is magic!

Bing search all the way. I get frustrated using Google, except when I need maps. Google has better maps. But everything is better with Bing.
