The Echo does look cool, but I wonder how much different it is from having a household Siri to be honest. Maybe if I had more smart appliances in my home and it could integrate with them in someway, then I would be able to see the use-cases...
I could ask it to lock the doors at night, or feed the cats...
It does say a lot when we start taking that kind of power and natural language processing capability for granted though!
And the "internet of things" is only going to make our homes smarter and smarter.
As for futuristic technologies, I'm super excited about VR headsets and the Microsoft HoloLens.
I also can't wait for driverless cars...they make so much sense in terms of road safety and efficiency!
