When I was a kid I used to walk past a baker's shop every morning on the way to school. There's is absolutely nothing that smells more delicious than freshly baked bread.

The problem with cooking smells is that as I reached middle age and then beyond, I acquired the ability to inhale calories. I can put on weight just walking past an Asian food hall.

@Oracle: Great name, but I'd expect no less after checking your profile page. That's been an interesting career.

Australia changed to the metric system in the early 1980s and for a while we were all converting things back to the Imperial system so we could understand it. The same thing is going to happen here. We can all relate to each other by our Ask names, but a lot of us are going to be called something quite different here. I guess we'll just have to get used to everybody's new names and stop trying to convert them. :(

I love the smell of Gardenia's, fresh cut grass, the first 10 minutes of rain, a campfire, women's perfume, fresh air from the countryside, baby lotion, lavender&lilac&vanilla, fresh cut cedar wood, Christmas tree's, tanned leather.

Fresh baked bread, the smell of the air after a rainfall and the smell of Jean Nate. My mom always wore it. Nothing better than a hug from your mom.

Yes about a baby's breath, leanne... and Angela ---> I liked the smell of tobacco much more than I ever did smoking the damn stuff. I'm glad I quit 10 years ago.

I love the smell of popcorn in a theater, freshly sliced cucumber and oatmeal/raisin cookies in the oven because they were the first cookie that I baked for my Mom on Mother's Day (many years ago). Makes me think of her everytime :)

Hi Gator Blu! I really like the smell's of my mom's home cooking too! I sure miss her! I like your picture of the brindle boxer in goggles, lol! I couldn't tell what it was exactly on Ask, because the pics were so small. Cute :)

Coffee brewing in the morning, Honeysuckle and jasmine in bloom, Chanel No.5 (my late mother's perfume) puppy breath, laundry that has been on the clothes line all day, my late grandfather's cherry/vanilla pipe tobacco, new car smell, anything cinnamon....

The forest, the scent after a rain, and tree sap. The tree sap is more because of rosin, and my violin always seems to make me rather happy.
