Well, back in the day, Blurtit was started up as an experiment to see whether people would be interested in connecting and sharing their knowledge on a community website. It turned out that quite a few people did!
This was back in 2006...so before Facebook, Twitter and a bunch of the other sites had really exploded into the giant social networks they are today.
Blurtit has changed a lot since those early days, and while the "experiment" hasn't resulted in millions of active users like Facebook, the site does get a lot of traffic (millions of visits each month), which goes to show that the knowledge and info that has been created over the years is still very valuable and useful to many people - even if they don't all signup and contribute to the site themselves.
As for those people who do post questions and answers on the site, I guess we all have our different reasons for coming back to Blurtit.
For me, personally, I enjoy reading questions and answers...sometimes I learn new things, sometimes I come across a ridiculous question and it makes me laugh.
I'm also lucky to have made a few friends on here too, so when I get back from work my routine usually goes:
- Get some food.
- Put my daughter to bed.
- Watch some Netflix.
- Log on to Blurtit and catch up with friends.
