Forest conservation, or forest protection, can come in two forms: Protected a forest from human interests, or sustaining a forest during times of natural threat, such as fire or blight.
The Needs of the World and the Need for Nature
Of course, we do need a certain supply of timber and natural materials. An important part of conservation is educating people on how to use such supplies in a way which protects as far as possible the Earth's natural resources.
This could be by buying recycled paper products, or purchasing products made from wood harvested from sustainable sources, such as a certified forest or from a company that invests in a scheme to replenish woods and forests.
On the ground, the laws of the land regarding the protection of forests are enforced by foresters. The duties of a foresters include overseeing timber harvests, restoring damaged forest areas and overall management of protected areas.
