The only thing for your friend to do is to get a new lawyer, also, if your friend reports that there was a broken lawyer/client confidentiality, that lawyer could be investigated, though you may not have proof for the lawyer to actually be possibly fired. Your friend needs a new lawyer and he needs to go to court to prove he has been paying all his child support. If you can't get the receipts somehow, you can always go to the judge to ask him to bring forth the records, the judge may do that.

Of course take this matter to the court that issued the original order of support and provide ALL of the documentation. Also contact the Ethics Board for the Bar Association in your state and report the lawyer who has been violating the confidentiality of your friends case.
