Do MP3 Speakers That Claim To Be 'compatible With Most MP3 Players' Just Link Up Through The Head-phone Port On The MP3 Player?

I want to buy some new MP3 speakers, but its a nightmare trying to find some that will fit my MP3 player. I'm not talking about Ipods, speakers made for Ipods don't fit with my MP3 player. Ideally I want them to fit just through the MP3 head phone port on the player like my old speakers. Can anyone help?

Yes they do. Most of the "cheaper" portable speakers use the headphone jack.
