If in doubt, you may want to do without. There is a reason you feel apprehensive and you should pay attention to those feelings. You might want to consider finding a position that your spouse is not only good at, but gives you two space away from each other. Good luck!

Only if we were partners in business. Like owning a coffee shop or bakery.
It would be great to spend more time with my spouse. He has worked in the Nuclear industry most of his life. He is on the side of making sure that it is safe. We have the most Nuclear Plants in the country here in Illinois. His degree is in Nuclear Physics so I could never work with him. I'm not saying I'm stupid, but not that smart. Peace

My husband and I did that, we got along great, and we worked well together. People would come into our cafe, and liked that it was family, and we liked to work together, it brought in many nice people that quickly became regulars. Granted, not a lot of people can do this, as they will eventually have spats in front of the customers, and that is no good for business. Hope this helps. Oh, they are some good memories, thanks.

Yeah, it can be hard to be around each other 24/7. My parents avoided it but a few years ago my mom took a place at my dad's office and they've been really happy like that.

Absolutely. But that varies with personalities and how well the couple gets along. In the wrong circumstances it could make a marriage go from bad to worse, or even from good to bad.

I think that I would not because he/she might want do something that you would not like and the other employees will see it happens how would you go and discipline that particular behavior with out fighting.

I don't think it would be wise for the fact that many of the other workers would think that the spouse may be getting preferential treatment. Nepotism may work ok in very large companies where the owner has limited influence over the supervision of the spouse, but in a smaller company, it wouldn't be a good idea. If the spouses were both partners in the business, that would be a different story.
