This is my first attempt at a Blog, but I could not find any other way to defend myself from these online bully blogs. I am a small business owner and pride myself in being an entrepreneur and trying to add to the betterment of this society by creating jobs and opportunities not only for myself but others. Recently I have been subject of an online blog attack by a source that i will not lend credibility to by granting them just what they want more free press.
My only desire in creating this online chat is to seek the advice and personal experience of other small business owners like myself that do not have the money to spend on chasing down these faceless cowards but to find solution to get our reputations back. I do not recall who said this originally but i know it holds true today; "It take 20 years to build a reputation and only 5 minutes to destroy it".

You need to contact a attorney that is specialized in this field. I have spent the past 2 months looking and finally was referred to a attorney that handles Online Defamation and Slander. The key is to have all of your facts documented and to show a clear history of repeated offenses. In my case I (Colin Brechbill) first attempted to handle civilly, I (colin brechbill) contact not only the BLOG and Website owner directly but also the individuals that were posting the comments. They all acknowledged the website and the comments. I then sent cease and desist letters to each, again certified and received emails and calls back from these people. The straw that broke the camel’s back was receiving from a friend that was on their email chain a letter they wrote and emailed (now conspirators) that continued to defame and slander me. The website then posted personal information such as my home address telephone number and location. I had repeatedly requested this be removed but once it is posted it is to late the damage was done. I have carefully documented every action. The last thing was the web owner and several of the commenter’s are being paid! Yes paid, this creates a whole other side of defaming for profit. Bottom line is I (Colin Brechbill) attempted to do the right thing and gave them every opportunity but when they failed and pressed me, I was FED up and am pushing back. |
